Diving In Head First!

I recently did my first photo shoot as an MUA, though it was only a small shoot it is proof to me that this is a step in the right direction!

Having come out of a four year degree that I had begun to hate by the end of it I was totally confused as to what I wanted to do with my life!!

I ended up going and working for my dad, which though wasn't the job I wanted to do it has its pros and its cons !

I got pretty down about the fact that I had done a degree and was doing nothing with it! What a waste of time and money to come back to the situation that I was in before I started Uni! Don't get me wrong I don't regret it as I wouldn't have met the people I did and know what I know now but what on earth was I going to do next. After doing research and speaking to others I applied to do a 1 day a week course in Media Hair and Makeup and since starting in September I haven't looked back.

I did have the panic of what if I get bored/start to hate this just as I do with most things in my life or even worse that I love it but I'm just that bad that they ask me to leave!!

What if my looks end up like this:

or this!:

Well so far I haven't been that bad and if there are anythings that need tweaking I have been told and I don't hate it. In fact it is the one day of the week I look forward to the most!!
I still have those mini panics where I look at myself and think why are you still here, I expected so much more from you, but I have to remind myself that it may be a long process but it is worth it in the long run.

I love each new technique that I am learning and feel that after my first shoot I am more excited and looking forward to the next where ever that may be!!

Here is one of my fav pictures from the shoot, and if you want to see more you can see them here.

I would say to anyone of you out there that is unsure of what to do next or thinking of trying out something new to do what Nike says and just do it! Not knowing what to do is totally normal, most people go through this but many won't be so open about that. Don't look at your friends and panic that they have their plans and its going so well for them as your time will come.

As much as I know I would appreciate future me to come back in time and let me know if i'm on the right track it would calm me so much but that's just not going to happen, so until that time I am just going to keep heading on with this vague plan I have and work my way to the top!!

How about you guys, any of you lot feel the same way??

Hope you liked this post

Quick Update

Today's post is  a bit of a short and sweet catch up one!

I have had a bit of hectic weekend, though a fun one a busy one none the less therefore I didn't manage to create the post that I wanted.
My parents had gone away for the weekend which left me in charge of a puppy and two brothers (yes they are old enough to look after themselves, but they still seem to struggle with simple tasks!). I don't know why but most of the time my parents go away I get major anxiety, like somethings going to go wrong and I just panic till they are back. Which didn't help on the Saturday when I went to go and do makeup for my first shoot, it may have only been for a models portfolio, but it was my first shoot and I loved it all.

But as I was driving home, the nerves and adrenaline began to wear off and for the past few days I have felt like I was slowly dying (hense the above picture!). Luckily I am on the mend now as I have a party to go to this weekend and I am not missing it! (Look out for outfit and makeup posts for this!)

So in short this is why my post today is so dull, due to poor schedule planing and illness!

I hope you guys had a better weekend than I did, let me know in the comments below what you all got up to!

A Quick Shoe Haul!

Now I  thought I would do a quick post on a recent shoe haul I had online, which my bank balance isn't really thanking me for now!

Now I did also buy some walking boots and also some hiking trainers at the same time, but I didn't really think they would be of any interest as they are rather boring yet useful footwear.

Now the first pair are a pair of Tan Leather Brogues from ASOS.

I got these in the hope that as they are leather they will last longer than a pair of cheaper shoes from primark and also these go with most items of clothing that I have.

Though these may be similar I am in love with the bow and cut out detail on these Shelly London Mid Heel Shoes.

These will be great to smarten up any casual outfit or for a night out where your not looking to wear a massive heel and want to look smart but comfortable

Finally we have these Camel Coloured Leather Skecher Boots from Sports Direct.

.
Now these were a bargain, which if you are ever looking for new shoes I would look on sports direct, yes they do have some bad ones but every so often you come across some gems like these!

These should hopefully last a while as well with how sturdy they are and if we are unfortunate enough to get more snow these will be great for then!

I hope you enjoyed this short but sweet post, if you have any posts that you would like to see let me know in the comments below!

Dooms Day, breath and remain calm!!

So as you may or may not know but over here in the UK today is Valentines Day! An amazing hallmark day for those in a relationship or those with a crush to spend loads of money to ensure their other halves know just how much they love them!!!

Or in a single girls eyes just another day to remind them just how single they are!!

Now don't get me wrong, I am more than fine with the fact that I am single and that others aren't. Theres just a fine line between being romantic and splattering your love all over facebook and other media that I am just trying to stop myself from hurling!!

I mean really, yes you love each other and yes we all know with how many times a week you post pics of you two, but there's just no need to go this over the top, or is that just me??

Me I plan on staying in with friends, watching some bad cheesy films and eating.

Possibly a drink or two?

But mainly eating

And if your the same then that is perfectly ok, if i'm being honest I would like to hope if I was in a relationship that this hallmark day wouldn't change, in fact in a strange way I quite look forward to the excuse of a takeaway and films, and also lapping up on the sympathy that I get from all my couply friends!!

So apologies that this isn't a pretty pink/red makeup look, or a what I got for valentines, but really I'm not sorry. I leave all those post to you relationship pros!

Hope you enjoyed this post and didn't find it to offensive!!

Sorting My Skin!

So I have recently been having a bit of a bad time with my skin and I am sooo fed up with my black heads!! I have tried so many different products, some specific to help with getting rid of black heads some not and none of them seem to have made any difference.

I have been searching around and found that dermalogica do a specific wash for black heads. I have heard a lot of good things about dermalogica, in fact one of my good friends raves about it and swears by it!

I decided to get a new set of cleansing, toning and night treatments and see if these make a difference to my skin. The range I created for teens - young adults who have issues with their skin and help clean it and keep at the best it can be.

First up we have the Clear Start Foaming Wash , which is created to clear dead skin, excess oil and dirt to help prevent breakouts. Now I know many say that foaming cleansers aren't great for your skin, that foaming should be left to kitchen soaps and hand washes but this one doesn't go overly foamy and it does feel like it cleans my skin but doesn't leave it feeling dry or tight like some do when they have over cleaned my face.

Another cleanser is the Clear Start Pore Control Scrub which obviously I know isn't going to shrink the size of my pores as that not really possible. But I hope that it will clear out the pores that are reacting oxygen and creating the blackheads that I have. Again this scrub doesn't dry my skin out and has small scrub parts so it feels like its giving an effective cleanser but isn't to harsh or abrasive on the skin.

To follow both these cleansers is the Clear Start All Over Toner, which I spray on my face and neck after using either of the cleansers. It is to help prevent excess production of oil but is also a great refreshing step.

The final item I purchased was the Clear Start Overnight Treatment  it is to work on your skin overnight to help prevent further breakouts and reduce redness.

Now this lovely picture is a close up of what my skin is like before started using this, my skin isn't the worst that it could be, but to me as a training mua your makeup is only as good as your base. So putting money into your skin care products is some that work for you are always worth it, so hopefully this should make a difference.

I should put a review once I have been using this products for a couple of weeks to let you guys know what I thought of them and if they have made a difference to my skin. Whether you have similar skin to mine or more breakouts I thought it might help to know if these products actually work or not.

SS2015 Seventies Makeup Look

So to follow my last post of the SS2015 infograph from FarFetch I decided to create a seventies grungy look that will be great for a night out to go with your new threads!

The Products I Used:

Brushes - Real Techniques (Think I should take up shares in the company!)
Foundation - Illamasqua Skin Base in shade 02
Concealer - Mac Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in Light
Brows - Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate
Eye Base - Mac Pro Longwear Paint pot in Painterly and KiKo Supreme Eyeshadow in Rich Gray Amethyst
Eye shadow - Shades Creep and Gunmetal from the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette and KiKo Water eyeshadow in  Shade 202
Eyeliner - Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner in Infinity
Mascara - MUA Mega Volume waterproof
Bronzer - Hoola by Benefit
Blush - CK blush in Cranberry
Hightlight - small amount of Mac Pigment Vanilla
Lip Liner - Maybelline Lip Pencil
Lip Stick - Mac Angel
Lip Gloss - Mac Lip Glass Clear

It is a pretty simple yet effective look (though I do think the foundation was a bit on the pale side even for me!). Its pretty easy just smudging the eye shadow over the lid ensuring the darker areas are on the lash line and blending outwards towards the brow.

The foundation is new to me and as a first use is pretty easy to work with, you need quite a bit for a full coverage, but will be great for those who want a light foundation that can be easily built up if needed to.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know what you think down in the comments below.
